Understanding Tracker

Modular Design
Tracker's modular design allows countries to scale their systems to meet their evolving needs. For governments with smaller export control needs, Tracker operates on a single hardware platform. For governments with larger export control needs, Tracker offers a range of hardware and software alternatives.
Globalized Applications
Globalization means much more than just translating. Instead it is the process of re-packaging and re-engineering a software application and associated on-line help, readme, documentation, printed manuals, packaging and marketing collateral materials for a specific target language different from the original User Interface (UI), on-line help, and technical documentation.

Tracker allows each user to define the roles and responsibilities within each Tracker system. System users, governmental agencies, and industry have one or more roles within each Tracker system. Tracker allows users to create individual users and groups. Users may belong to as many groups as necessary, and groups can even belong to other groups. This allows each user to model their organizational and decision making structure after their own infrastructure.
Cyc Knowledge Base
Tracker ships using Cyc Knowledge Base as it's information model. The Cyc knowledge base (KB) is a formalized representation of a vast quantity of fundamental human knowledge: facts, rules of thumb, and heuristics for reasoning about the objects and events of everyday life.

Tracker allows users to use whatever tools they want to create high resolution documents. It is that simple. Sophisticated XML tools allow Tracker to seamlessly merge your look and feel with Tracker data, producing documentation that is suitable for conducting international trade.
Seamless Import and Export
How do you exchange international trade information among different governments and different companies? Tracker XML (tXML) is the standard format for exchanging data involving all aspects of the import/export control process. Built upon the Extensible Markup Language (XML), tXML represents the best way to exchange global trade information, in a fast-paced, multi-lingual world. So powerful is tXML that the format captures all information necessary to render legally-binding trade decisions and reconcile corporate policies with international control lists. tXML also allows users to share data across disparate systems and between Tracker versions.
